Free shuttle from the parking lot to the airport: how the 24/7 service works

By Bandeira ParkPublished on 4 min read

Transfer gratuito do estacionamento ao aeroporto: como funciona 24h

The Bandeira Park shuttle is free, runs 24 hours a day, every day, and has no bag limit. It exists at the two airport locations with real distance to cover — Guarulhos (serving Terminals 1, 2 and 3) and Viracopos —, with vans leaving every 20–25 minutes, an average wait of 12–13 minutes and a ride of 6 to 10 minutes. At Congonhas and the Tietê Bus Terminal there is no van, and for good reason: those locations are ~300 m and a 4-minute walk from the terminals.

Verified facts (checked in July 2026):

  • Free shuttle, 24/7, every day — GRU (T1, T2 and T3) and VCP
  • Frequency: vans every 20–25 min; average wait of 12–13 min; 6–10 min ride
  • Fleet: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter XL — 20 seats, ~20,000 L of luggage space
  • No bag limit and no extra charge
  • Parking prices at bandeirapark.com.br/precos

The van: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter XL

The fleet is standardized: Sprinter XL with 20 seats, leather seats, a 32-inch TV, air conditioning and about 20,000 liters of luggage space. In practice, that means a family with a stroller, a group with surfboards or an executive with two large suitcases all board the same vehicle, with no volume fee and no "it didn't fit, wait for the next one".

On departure: from lot check-in to the terminal

You arrive, the car goes through the photo check-in and you board the next van — departures happen every 20–25 minutes, with an average wait of 12–13 minutes. The ride takes 6 to 10 minutes at GRU (the location is 3.5 km away, on the airport route, no detour) and about 6 to 7 minutes at VCP. The golden rule: arrive at the parking lot 30 to 45 minutes before your airline check-in time.

On return: the van picks you up at the terminal

When you land, call or WhatsApp — GRU: +55 11 92137-6719; VCP: +55 19 97829-2777 — and the van comes to the terminal's boarding point to pick you up. It works at any hour: the flight that lands at 2 a.m. gets the same service as the one that lands at 2 p.m.

How much time to set aside for the whole process

The practical math, valid for GRU and VCP: arrive at the parking lot 30 to 45 minutes before your airline check-in time. That window absorbs the vehicle's photo check-in, the average 12–13 minute wait for the van and the ride of up to 10 minutes — with room to spare. While you wait, the front desk serves the house treats: water, coffee and, for those coming back from a trip, even beer. There is no charge at any step: the shuttle is part of the service, not an extra.

What a good parking shuttle needs to have

If you are comparing options (at any airport), use this checklist:

  • A true 24/7 operation — including holidays and the middle of the night.
  • Free and with no bag limit — a luggage fee hides the real price.
  • A published frequency — departures every 20–25 minutes spare you the "is it coming?" anxiety.
  • A return pickup you can trigger on WhatsApp — on the way back, you want the van, not a phone no one answers.
  • The right fleet — an executive van with a real luggage compartment, not an improvised passenger car.

And where there is no van?

At Congonhas, the location is ~300 m from the terminal: access is on foot, in ~5 minutes, through a covered tunnel with escalators, open 24/7 — faster than waiting for any shuttle. At the Tietê Bus Terminal, it is a 4-minute walk to the terminal and the Portuguesa-Tietê metro station.
